Town Board
The governing body of a township is the town board. Forest Township consists of three supervisors, one clerk, and one treasurer. The distinction likely has its basis in the fact that only town supervisors are authorized to vote on issues before the board. However, “town board” is commonly used inclusively to refer to all town officers – supervisors, clerk, and treasurer.
The town board works to serve the residents and maintain the daily operations of the Township. There are regularly scheduled (one per month) and special meetings (as determined by the board of supervisors) and board meetings. Supervisors must be a good listener for concerned citizens who may have a question or problem. Board members attend regularly scheduled training that provides guidance in performing their duties efficiently and effectively.
Forest Townships is seeking a treasurer. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and will be open until filled. The Forest Township Treasurer Job Posting can be found: Forest Township Treasurer Job Posting
